ATR Repair was founded in 1999 by John Gitzen, a United States Army heavy mechanic who believed hard work and honesty still mattered. After serving his country, he came home and opened the original shop in Hugo, Minnesota — building the business the same way he learned to work in the military: with discipline, accountability, and pride in doing the job right.

That foundation still guides ATR today.

What began as one shop has grown through steady work and trusted relationships. The Hugo location continues to operate as ATR Repair Inc., and over the years additional Midwest shops have joined the family — including Auto Experts, Inc., ATR Autobody, and Northland Equipment in Clear Lake, Wisconsin and the Clayton, Wisconsin ATR Repair location.
